Dentures
Full dentures are prosthetic teeth that replace all teeth on the upper and/or lower arch. Partial dentures fill in the space left by one or more teeth, fitting in between existing teeth like a puzzle piece. If you need dentures, Dr. Jane or Dr. Kevin will take impressions and work with our dental lab so that you receive a carefully crafted and custom-fitted prosthetic. Our goal is to deliver dentures that fit well, function well, and look natural. If you’ve never worn dentures, expect an adjustment period when your gums will acclimate to the new prosthetic.
In addition to restoring function and your smile, dentures support facial muscles from beneath for a more youthful appearance, and they can reduce or eliminate pronunciation and chewing problems.
Dentures usually rely on adhesive or suction for stability. Partials attach to neighboring teeth with inconspicuous claps. If you’d like a more stable and conservative solution, ask about implant-retained dentures.
The dentist can place mini dental implants or work with an oral surgeon for traditional implant placement. Both procedures involve placing small implant posts into the jaw to stabilize a prosthetic. Learn more about dental implants here.
